SUMMER - COLLEGE FOR KIDS - GET THE EDGE

Please take an opportunity to review The EDGE, our newly revised College for Kids and Summer Experience programs offered through Saddleback Community Education.

 

​Students will tremendously benefit from this opportunity!  Saddleback’s College for Kids and Summer Experience math, reading, and writing programs are now specifically redesigned to reflect the academic rigor and necessary skills for optimal classroom success.  

 

Students who are enrolled in The EDGE will approach the school year with an EDGE of both confidence and competence. Saddleback’s College for Kids and Summer Experience math, reading, and writing programs will significantly support the skills and concepts of each grade-level’s Core Curriculum.  

 

We have two locations to serve our students:

 

Important information for The EDGE at College For Kids this summer: ​

Session 1: June 18-June 28

Session 2: July 9-July 19

Session 3: July 23-August 2

·         Classes meet Monday-Thursday for two hours at Saddleback College

·         Class fee $129 for 16 hours of instruction

 

Important information for The EDGE at Ladera Ranch Middle School this summer: ​

Session 1: June 18-June 28

Session 2: July 9-July 19

Session 3: July 23-August 2

·         Classes meet Monday-Thursday for two hours at Ladera Ranch Middle School

·         Class fee $169 for 16 hours of instruction (includes interactive computer technologies with each student using a Chromebook).

Students who participate in either of Saddleback’s College for Kids and Summer Experience The EDGE programs will enter the 2018 school year with a critical EDGE in their academic skills, overall confidence and intellectual abilities.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER ACADEMY 2018 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS

We are excited to announce that CCA will be hosting the very first Middle School Summer Academy!!

During the Academy, students will get a preview of the career and technical classes that are offered in high school, explore career skills, try 3D printing, CNC milling, laser engraving, and robotics in this two week crash course. There is no charge to CUSD or LBUSD students.

COMPLETE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PANTHER PRIDE AWARD AND BE A PART OF THE 8TH GRADE AWARD CEREMONY!!!!!

Calling all student volunteers!! Earn the Panther Pride Award by demonstrating outstanding citizenship and donating your time with service hours! Tutoring for our Homework Club and Campus Clean-up Days are great ways to earn points!! Don't wait! Applications and service hours must be submitted by April 8, 2019! HEALTH OVER THE SUMMER FOR CURRENT 8TH GRADERS

The applications for CUSD Health over the summer are now available in the office and from the link below. CUSD applications will be accepted April 13-May 25. CUSD applications will not be accepted prior to April 13th. The attendance window will be open at 7:30a on April 13th for CUSD application turn-in. Enroll early as space is limited and enrollment may close prior to May 25, 2018.

New To The District? Let's Test Your Child For Math Placement!

Please click on the link below for information on qualifying to enroll in an accelerated math course. Please go to the section titled “MATH PLACEMENT INFO FOR STUDENTS TRANSFERRING INTO CAPISTRANO USD IN FALL 2017 on the district’s math website at http://capousd.ca.schoolloop.com/math .  In that section, the attached math course placement testing info, criteria, and dates/times/location documents are available for download, as well as a new link to a Google form named, “MATH COURSE PLACEMENT TESTING REGISTRATION FORM”.  Parents are now asked to register their child for math course placement testing by completing that form. If you have any questions, please contact your child's academic advisor.

COME ONE COME ALL. Get a jump on your homework before you get home! Homework Club is every Wednesday in the library from 3:30-4:30pm. It is run by one of our Newhart teachers! You must have homework to complete. It is a great opportunity to catch up and stay caught up! It is NOT a time to chat with friends so be ready to work! Bus transportation is not provided.
