As parents we are all aware of how the State budget has affected education, but it is the PTA’s goal to not let this impact our students at Newhart. This year we are asking families to support the PTA in two ways.

First, we invite every family to join the PTA. Membership is only $15 and you are under no obligation to attend meetings or volunteer. Though we would love to have you, and a volunteer form is included in the packet!

Second, we are asking for a suggested donation of $100 per student to PTA’s Partners in Education (PIE). However, any amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated. Newhart PTA does not hold traditional fundraisers, such as gift wrap and cookie dough, and this donation drive will be PTA’s main fundraiser for the year. What could be easier? Plus 100% of your donation goes to support the students at Newhart.

With the donations PTA will continue to provide the general programs the students love, but we also plan to invest in leading edge 21^st Century Technology Upgrades. New this year, we will be providing financial support to the math, science, social studies and English departments. This will hopefully eliminate the need for teachers to request financial donations at Back to School Night. Our other project is to support the new garden which will also be used as an educational tool in the classroom.
